About

Hello - My name is Dhara Joshi

On November 13th 2015, I was in a catastrophic motor vehicle accident, which led me to be in a coma for 1 month, and hospitalized for 5 months. 33 broken bones, a sh*t ton of internal damage, and a catastrophic brain injury still haven’t managed to break me or my spirit.

I really have my friends and family, the wonderful health care system and my life experiences to thank, for where I am today.

Prior to the accident, I spent my entire working life (which wasn’t very long since I was 27 at the time of my accident), working for non-for-profit organizations ranging from The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian National Institute for the Blind and The Canadian Cancer Society. All of this has really helped me gain perspective on life.

I have been on both sides of the system, and I feel like this gives me a unique perspective. It has all led me to become a stronger, more positive person, who lives life to its fullest. I’m here to share my post-accident journey and all the triumphs, trials and tribulations that have come along with that.
